WALK BIKE BERKELEY is an all-volunteer organization that advocates for safe, low-stress, and fun walking and biking in Berkeley for people of all ages and abilities.

We want a healthy, equitable, and sustainable transportation system in Berkeley.

Join us to make an impact on policies, plans, and projects that affect walking and biking (while having fun).

Current priorities

  • Passing Measure FF, the SAFE STREETS measure, to fund smoother, safer, streets across Berkeley.

  • Ensuring the City’s Public Works Department is staffed and supported to deliver projects that improve walking and biking in Berkeley.

  • Pedestrianizing part of Center Street downtown, strengthening the City’s Bicycle Plan, and making Telegraph and Adeline complete streets.

  • Implementing the City’s Vision Zero Action Plan to eliminate all fatal and serious collisions on Berkeley streets by 2028.

  • Advancing BerkDOT, an equity-focused, engineering-first vision of self-enforcing streets with limited need for police involvement.
